New Kalamazoo Klash Date Announced for 2020

It was announced last Wednesday on the TWIST Talk Live Facebook Show that Kalamazoo Speedway Officials have moved the annual Outlaw Late Model event from its normal August date to June. The Kalamazoo Klash is usually held the same week that Nascar comes to town at Michigan International Speedway for their 2nd visit of the season. In 2020, the Klash will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd which will again be the same week Nascar will be in town.

Another reason for the the schedule change is an attempt to draw more cars. In years past the Kalamazoo Klash has always ran just 6 days after the Summer Sizzler at New Paris Speedway (IN), and due to crashes or mechanical failures during that event usually decreases the originally entry list for the Klash. Other positive factors for changing the event date is that the Klash will be one of the first big Outlaw Late Model Events of the year in the area. The idea is most everyone's cars will still be intact early on in the season along with also having more money for expenses.

The Kalamazoo Speedway expects to release their full 2020 schedule in the next week or so.
